If you are giving out wedding favors, they should definitely be an expression of you as a couple. Though there are traditional favors that are given out, many people choose to get creative, which is wonderful as well. One very creative, somewhat whimsical idea is retro rounds; these are the plastic round containers that you can typically get for a quarter out of novelty machines at the front of most grocery stores. They make a great favor for your guests, and they are very cheap as well. All that you need to do is fill each of these small containers with the item of your choice (you can put in small hard candies, small trinkets, or even folded up fortunes or copies of your wedding vows). Once you are done filling them up, close them, and put a signature monogrammed label on top. These are very simple to make, and they have a personal touch as well. Though they are not extremely expensive or elaborate in any way, your guests will appreciate the thought and whimsy that went into putting them together.

Couples and wedding planners alike are lining up to shop online. There are so
many items online couples can plan a wedding design that is totally unique. A
personal event is the goal of every couple. Planning a wedding that is filled
with personal touches and a custom design is that all couples want. Most couples
have a dream in their minds or at least an idea but finding the items to
implement that dream can be the task. They can find some items but not enough to
design a wedding. By shopping online you not only save time but money while you
find everything you need. It is smart to put your wedding together by shopping
online. They have everything you need all in one place. If you are not certain
what direction to take with your wedding design they also have great design
ideas. There is nothing more romantic than a wedding that is personal in design.
With all of the items available for couples there are plenty of ways to create a
romantic and unique wedding favors/event that is all about personal style.

Planning and then some more planning and finish up with some more planning. That is how our friends wedding plans went. She is a very detail oriented person. We all knew we were in for a detailed wedding from the wedding invitations to the table settings themselves. She wanted to be in charge of everything and make certain everything was done just as she wanted it to be. It was her wedding which made it the perfect place for her style and decorating senses to shine. Her husband to be simply stayed out of it. He left everything up to her and she loved it. When the wedding day finally arrived she was so proud of the event and how it was all set up. Down to the last detail the wedding was perfect. As she made her way down the isle she looked at each of us to make certain we approved of everything. It was so sweet to see the pride that she took as she planned her wedding her way.

The Guilt Ridden Favors

Would you be among the selected frugal shoppers who shop at the Dollar Stores? If not, perhaps you should give it a shot. Granted they are not quite as well stocked as Walmart or Target, but they do have a relatively decent supply of the items you may need from time to time. There are greeting cards, gift wrapping, gift bags and fillers that we are always needing. And in many of these stores, nothing is more than a dollar. As you well know, you will pay two to three times more for the same at the above mentioned locations. They also have cleaning supplies. Granted some of these are not the usual ones you find in other stores, but they do work well. There are some food items also, along with kitchen supplies, paper products and a host of other things to keep you well occupied for a period of time. It is always nice when you check out with several bags and it only cost you less than $20. When I visited my local Dollar Store recently, I was perusing the candle aisle. They have such a large assortment of holders, along with incense and votive candles, pillar candles and tea lights. That is where I came across a young girl in her late twenties loading up her buggy with as many of the candles and holders as she could take off the shelf. My first knee jerk reaction was that I had better hurry, or she would roll away with the entire inventory. Rather selfish of me, but instinct kicks in and I can’t help myself. I suppose you could attribute it to my belief of “only the strong survive”. Once I calmed my urge to begin hoarding, I asked her what she was planning on doing with those fifty or so candles and their holders? She informed me that they were her wedding favors and they would also double as her reception candles at her upcoming wedding in a couple of months. I felt so guilty for my self centered thoughts and helped her load her buggy with the rest of the stock.

What is Motion

Motion of an object is the continuous displacement of the object in space with reference to another object. In the absence of a reference object, motion ceases to be apparent. What this means is that motion is always measured in relation to another object, which is used as a reference point.

When we drive, the road & the surroundings move past us. Thus we get the sensation of motion. So the road & surroundings are our reference points. When we fly, the earth beneath us is our reference point. But as you can see, the closer the reference point, the more acute the sense of motion. That’s why astronauts in orbit seldom sense speed (though they are moving at thousands of miles an hour ) because earth, their only reference point is quite far away.

OK, but what has this got to do with Special Effects ?! A Sfx technique called Com-positing totally relies on the way our mind perceives motion. Com-positing is one of the most useful tools in a Sfx technician’s bag of tricks. Keep these two in mind; the object, and its reference point(s); both of these are necessary to perceive motion in a scene.
